Happy International Women’s Day!

Firstly, our apologies for the sound this week, I’m afraid our microphone taught us a few new tricks. It won’t happen again!

International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

We are surrounded by International Women’s Groups in the this expat world.

What does being an International Women mean to you?

For Kirsty and Sarah it means being with all types of women, of all religions and race. It’s about learning international stories and what it’s like to be a woman in all corners of the globe.

Can you be a feminist and follow someone else’s career?

We discussed this great article written by Annabel Crabb for the Sydney Morning Herald, you can read the article here.

Sarah shared her favourite video of the week which has been doing the rounds on Facebook. Love doesn’t discriminate against culture, religion, sexual orientation or disabilities. Love has no labels. Everyone loves the same.

Sarah shared her favourite hashtag this week which is Christy Turlington’s #everymothercounts It’s a personal story for Sarah who nearly lost her sister to maternal death and Christy’s mission is to link mothers to providers of essential care by addressing the three barriers to maternal health (education, transportation & supplies). To learn more visit Christy’s instagram account @cturlington or visit her website here.

Finally, Kirsty shared her favourite Facebook page of the week which is Sally Sara, an ABC journalist for Foreign Correspondent in Australia. You can check out Sally’s Facebook page here.

Thank you again to everyone who has tuned in, subscribed, reviewed and rated the series. Please don’t hesitate to give us a review on iTunes or send us a note with any suggestions.

Until next week.
