Hello and welcome to another episode of Two Fat Expats. Today we discuss the subject of expat divorce and why an expat divorce is vastly different from an ordinary divorce in your home country.

We heard from two women, both who have gone through divorce on what they learned, and what they would have done differently. We wanted to say thank you to Vanessa and Nicky, their stories showed what amazing women and mothers they are.

The most important thing to consider when proceeding with a divorce overseas are the laws in your adopted country. Will you be better off heading home to file for divorce? It is obviously not a decision to be made lightly and a lot of planning is needed to ensure that you, your children and your assets are protected. You may find this article from The Guardian a very interesting read.

Sarah’s Blog Pick: The Private Life of a Girl Sophie is a UK based blogger who also runs a small jewellery business. She is incredibly creative and her blog is a creative outlet for her. Her photography (all her own) is incredibly beautiful.  Her jewellery line is called “Oh My Clumsy Heart”.  I really enjoyed reading her post on finding a creative business niche.

Sarah’s Instagram Pick: @inthefunlane Holly’s IG feed is the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen, especially if you love all things pastel like I do.

Kirsty talked more about her obsession with the TV show The Affair.

Again, thank you to everyone who tunes in each week and for all the messages we receive here and on our Facebook page.
